The SKYEWORX origin story
SKYEWORX is an Australian cybersecurity company providing automated backup and rapid recovery solutions for Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Founded in 2022 after a major data loss incident, SKYEWORX protects enterprise data from human error, ransomware, and compliance gaps under the Atlassian Shared Responsibility Model.
It started with a routine Atlassian migration in 2021. A flawed automation script misfired, permanently deleting over 4,000 critical Jira issues. When we looked for a native recovery path, we realized a hard truth: it simply did not exist. This incident exposed a vulnerability in the Atlassian ecosystem that thousands of other businesses shared, so we built SKYEWORX to ensure no team ever loses their data again.
